The Visitor counter doesn't work.
If the Web Search software is installed on a Windows NT server, make sure the COUNTPATH line in the lib.conf file is pointing to the correct location.
Web Search isn't finding the lib.conf file.
Please call our Support department and request the latest version of Web Search.
When I point the browser to libsearch.exe, the browser wants to download the file instead of run it
Please ask your server administrator to do the following on the server:
I have received the error: " 'blat.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command".
Copy the file blat.exe into the folder c:\winnt\system32
I have received the error: "Cannot create c:\winnt\temp/p2x561.dll".
Please ask your server administrator to do the following on the server:
The security for c:\winnt\temp needs to be set so that “Authenticated Users” can “Write” and “Modify”.
My web server is Windows 2003 and I cannot run libsearch.exe.
Expand web server extensions, right click & select "add new web server extension", set exe as the extension then add the paths to each of the executables. Once you're finished set your web server extension to allow. The same will have to be done for smblat.exe if you will be generating e-mails.
E-mails aren't being sent.
1) Blat.exe needs to be copied to a folder within the path of the web server. Any pathed folder will work. All servers have c:\winnt\system32 in the path although you may not want to use that folder.
After you have copied blat.exe to a pathed folder you need to open a command window in that folder and run the following command:
Blat –install 999.999.999.999 info@yourorg.com
Where
999.999.999.999 is the ip address of your mail server
info@yourorg.com is the default from e-mail address
smblat.exe always sends the mail server ip and from address based on your entries in lib.conf to blat.exe but blat.exe needs to be initialized with defaults.
2) In lib.conf change SMBLAT_EMAIL_ONLY:N to Y. When you run libsearch.exe make sure you click on Refresh in your browser to ensure that libsearch.exe is reading the changed lib.conf.
If the problem still exists, in lib.conf change SMBLAT_DEBUG:N to Y. When you run libsearch.exe make sure you click on Refresh in your browser to ensure that libsearch.exe is reading the changed lib.conf. You will see debug information that may help you determine why the e-mail is not being sent.
