EntryMate

What fields are filled?

bar code number (if entered), accession number (if entered), include in replacement value mass change (if checked), default cards and labels to print (if checked), up to 10 subjects, title, sub-title, series, authors, publisher, place of publication, date published, call numbers, Library of Congress #, Notes, ISBN, # of pages, replacement value, shelf card info, biblio info, body of card

Will EntryMate process just books?

The current format of data that comes back from the Library of Congress does not indicate a resource type. Books are assumed. (Another data source briefly considered indicated resource type but did not include Dewey call number or price information.)

What if I have less than 1,000 items?

Pricing is based per 1,000 found on the Library of Congress. In other words there is a minimum fee equivalent to 1,000 items being found.

How does it handle authors vs. illustrators?

The information that comes back from the Library of Congress puts illustrators in "Other Author" fields, however it indicates illustrator with "Martchenko, Michael, ill.". This illustrator information will be put in the next available author field for that item.

Will it find older books?

There are no guarantees that the ISBN will be found at the Library of Congress. You will only be charged for the items that were found (subject to the minimum fee mentioned above).

Will fields be filled in even though I have told RM to skip those fields (via the Utilities menu > Skip fields)?

Yes. The EntryMate import process does not look at which fields are currently "skipped".

Are there any fields I would need to enter/modify after the EntryMate data has been imported?

Usually. You will still need to enter localized data such as purchased date, difficulty level, status, category, location etc.
