How Do I's

Circulation, Waiting/Reserve

Use this feature to add people to the waiting/reserver list.  You may also delete waiting list records as well.

After someone has been added to the waiting list, you may find you would like to remove them.  When someone checks out an item they have been waiting for, their Waiting/Reserve record is automatically deleted.

Use this screen to add, modify or remove records from the Waiting/Reserve list.

Click on

to add someone to the waiting list.  The following screen will appear.

Patron

Begin typing the last name of the patron who is waiting/reserving items.  When you have chosen a patron you will see information about them displayed underneath this field.

Note:

You can choose names by first name instead of last name.  To change this preference from the default of last name, go into Utilities, Preferences, General Preferences, Circulation, Check out, Patron Search style and choose First name Last name.

You can change the patron information that is displayed when a patron is chosen.  Go into Utilities, Preferences, General Preferences, Circulation, Drop down List, Patron Information displayed to choose whatever patron information you want to show when a patron is chosen.

You can search by entering name or phone number.

Resource Type / Item

Choose the resource type, then choose the item the patron is waiting for or reserving by typing the first few letters of the item title.    When you have chosen an item you will see information displayed underneath this field.

Note:

You can change the item information that is displayed when an item is chosen.  Go into Utilities, Preferences, General Preferences, Circulation, Drop down List, Item Information displayed to choose whatever item information you want to show when an item is chosen.

Waiting or Reserve for

This date will be set to today's date.  If you want to reserve an item, change this date to the date you want to be able to check the item out on.

Click this button to add this information.

Click this button to ignore this information and return to the Waiting/Reserve tab.
