Use my volunteers to help enter information at home (Plus)

If you have ResourceMateŽ Plus, volunteers can install ResourceMateŽ at home to help with the entry process.


They can enter items on their home computer, transfer to diskette, cd, usb flash drive or e-mail you the items they have entered.  You can then add these items into the main collection.


The following is a step by step process for utilitizing volunteers

One time or whenever there are system chages that volunteers should also have

Main computer

1) Create any additional Resource Types that will be used

2) Create your authority lists (optional)

3) Set Preferences for which list tables the volunteers can add to

4) Send this configuration information to the volunteer (Plus, Export to Volunteer)


Volunteer

Click on Plus, Update System from the Main Computer and choose the file that was sent to you from the main computer


On a regular basis as volunteer enters items and/or patrons

Volunteer

1) Enter the items and/or patrons you have been given

2) Create a file to be merged onto the main computer (Plus, Export Data to Main Computer)

3) Continue to enter the next set of items or patrons


Main computer

1) Import the Volunteer file (Plus, Import Process, New, Import items from Volunteer Utility)

2) Create a file of items and/or patrons that can now be deleted from the volunteers computer


Volunteer

Click on Plus, Update Export Confirmation from the Main Computer and choose the file that was sent to you from the main computer.  The items and/or patrons previously exported to the main computer will be deleted from your tables.
