If you are viewing items, and a dialog appears asking you to "Select Sort Order", you are probably in Simple Grid mode.  You will need to switch to Power grid Mode to be able to sort by column.  Power grid mode will load all items.  As a result, it may take a while.  To switch to Power Grid Mode click on the following
