Using the Plus Volunteer entry feature (Distributed Entry of Items), you can give volunteers some items to enter at home.

We recommend that you give the volunteer the same number of pre-printed bar code labels as the number of items they will be entering.  When they enter the first item, they will have to type in or scan the first bar code number.  After that they will click on

and verify the bar code number generated with the label they are sticking on the item.

When the volunteer begins the next batch of books they will need to remember to type in or scan the first bar code number.

If they are always in the habit of ensuring the bar code numer generated is the same as the label they are sticking on the item, there will be no problem with volunteers entering and bar coding items.
