Utilities, Preferences


Note:

These preferences can also be set by clicking on Utilities, Call Number Preferences.


Fill Call Number with

Choose Dewey decimal, Library of Congress or None to determine what the call number will have in it.


Number of Call number fields to fill

Determine how much call number information to store.  It is most common to fill 2 fields.


Add year to Call Number

If you chose to fill the call number with the Library of Congress number, you can also include the year information in the call number.


Whether to Add Author's Last name to Call #

Include Author's last name with call number information.  This choice is also dependent on the next two choices.


Number of Author characters to add to Call #

This is most commonly set at 3.


Author characters to UPPER case

Determine whether you want the author information in mixed case or UPPER case.


Proper capitalization for Title/Subtitle and Series

Check this option if you want the first letter of all words in the title, sub-title and series fields to begin with a capital letter.


Do NOT Split Call Number

Check this option so call numbers are not split across multiple call number fields based on space and period.


Use Specialized LOC Parsing Logic

If you are filling call number with the Library of Congress call number and check this option


QK495.A66A35 1992

will split to

Call 1 = QK

Call 2 = 495

Call 3 = .A66

Call 4 = A35

instead of

Call 1 = QK495

Call 2 = .A66A35


BT301.2.B25

will split to

Call 1 = BT

Call 2 = 301.2

Call 3 = .B25

instead of

Call 1 = BT301

Call 2 = .2

Call 3 = .B25


Remove Dewey Decimal Version number

Check this box if you don't want the dewey version number included in the call number.
