File, Items
ResourceMateŽ allows you to enter many different types of items into your database. For the purposes of this help, we are going to use the word item to describe anything you may be working with. Keep in mind the same commands would be used for whatever item you are entering, e.g. books; cassettes; tapes; CD's etc.
From the Items form...
All library catalog card information (call number, etc.) can be entered.
Unlimited subject keywords for each item can be added.
Free form notes or comments can be entered.
Your own user-defined fields can be accessed.
Note:
All information entered can be searched and selected for any item-related reports. See Advanced Search
Each place you can enter information on the screen is called a field. Each spot where you can perform an operation such as Save is referred to as a button. We are now going to go through each field and button on the Item form. The following gives detailed descriptions about each field or button, and instructions on how to enter the information they require.
Use [TAB] to move from field to field. DO NOT USE the [ENTER] key to move from field to field, as this will cause unexpected results. As an example, pressing [ENTER] when a button is highlighted is the same as clicking that button.
