How Do I's

File, Import ResourceMateŽ 2.0 Data

If you have never used ResourceMateŽ 2.0, or don't have any information in your copy of ResourceMateŽ 2.0, you won't need to run this feature.

This feature will import your ResourceMateŽ 2.0 information into ResourceMateŽ 3.0.

When you choose this option, ResourceMateŽ 3.0 will be minimized.  The 2.0 Import program is a separate program.  If you go into ResourceMateŽ 3.0, you will see a message that states that the ResourceMateŽ 2.0 Data Converter is running.  When the 2.0 Import is completed, ResourceMateŽ 3.0 will be maximized and visible again.

Choose the first option if ResourceMateŽ 2.0 is installed on this computer.  Later you can point to where your 2.0 information is (usually c:\rm).

Choose the 2nd option if ResourceMateŽ 2.0 is installed on another computer.  Later you can point to where your 2.0 backup is located (usually a:)

If you chose the first option, you will see

Click on the

to point to the location where ResourceMateŽ 2.0 is installed.  You can also type the folder into the entry box.  If you enter a folder that does not exist, you will receive a message.  If you enter a folder that does not contain ResourceMateŽ information, you will receive a message.

If you chose the 2nd option, you will see

Click on the

to point to your most recent ResourceMateŽ 2.0 backup (rm.sqz).  You can also type the location and file name into the entry box.  If you enter a folder or file that doesn't exist, you will receive a message.

Indicate where your 3.0 information is stored.  You shouldn't need to change this setting.

After you have made these choices, click on

You will be prompted with

if you have any items, patrons or resource types.  Click Yes if you don't mind over-writing this information, otherwise click No.  2.0 data will not be over-written.  This message warns of the existing 3.0 data that will be over-written.

If you have history information, you will see the following screen

You can enter a date to reduce the amount of history information that will be imported into ResourceMateŽ 3.0.

You will then see a number of progress bars as your 2.0 information is converted into the new 3.0 format.

Upon completion you will see Congratulations!, ResourceMateŽ 2.0 Conversion is completed!  You can click on

if you would like to see the step by step process that took place.

If there are any problem while converting your information, you will see Conversion Error!

Click on

In the Title column, look for the first line with Error:.  Contact Jaywil Software with that information.
