While importing from an EntryMate file, you can assign bar code numbers to the items as they are imported.

To assign bar code numbers to the items as they are imported, enter or scan the first bar code number, or click on

to determine the next available bar code number.  As always, verify that the number calculated is the same as the next bar code number available on your sheet of bar code labels.

If you applied bar code labels to the items when you created the isbn list that you sent to Jaywil Software, after you have entered the first bar code number that was applied to the first item, you will need to check the "Barcodes were applied to items when they were scanned" check box.  When this box is checked, any items that were not found on the Library of Congress will still create an item record so your bar code number assignment will be correct.  The placeholder record will have the isbn, the bar code number, and a title of _PlaceHolder Record 0001, etc.
