While importing from Ascii, you can either import the bar code number that may be contained in your ascii file or you can assign bar code numbers to the items after they are imported using Plus, Bar Code Numbers - Assign to existing Items.

If you ascii file contains your bar code numbers as part of the information available for each item, ensure that column has been properly mapped to the bar code number field.  See Plus, Import Process for more information.
