Plus, Import Process, New, Import Items from MARC File

Use this feature to import MARC information.

Enter the name of the MARC file.  Use the input box or click on

to point to the file.

The MARC file will have to be in an ascii format not in the MARC binary format.  If you MARC file isn't in an ascii format use the MARCEdit MARCBreaker utility that can be found on the ResourceMate Cd.

If the LDR record does not have resource type information or the entered MARC type is not found within your Resource Types, the entered Default Resource Type will be used.

Enter the field delimiter used in the MARC file you are processing.

After you have pointed to a MARC file, click this button to determine whether this file has any MARC tags that won't get imported.  You then have the option of mapping them to a ResourceMateŽ field.  We recommend that you run this option before importing from MARC.

Click to begin processing of the volunteer's file.

Note:

If your MARC file is in a binary format instead of an ascii format, you will need to have MarcEdit installed on your computer.  With MarcEdit installed, ResourceMate will automatically run MarcBreaker against your binary MARC file.  MarcEdit came on the ResourceMateŽ cd or can be downloaded from http://oregonstate.edu/~reeset/marcedit/html/index.php

Note:

By default, ResourceMateŽ is configured to import based on the following MARC tags.  If you need changes to this configuration, contact Jaywil Software.
