Maximum number overdue
Determine the maximum number of this resource type that an individual can have overdue. Setting this restriction is optional.
Max. fine per item
Determine the maximum fine that can be generated for an item of this resource type. Setting this restriction is optional.
Note:
Max. fine per item is a system restriction as well as a resource type restriction. The resource type restriction takes priority over the system restriction. If you never set a max. fine per item for a specific resource type, then this is not a concern.
If you have set a max. fine per item for a specific resource type and also set a max fine per item for a specific patron group or patron, you will need to set the max. fine per item for the resource type, for the patron group or patron.
Patron Johnny - system setting - max fine per item - $2
Resource Type Books - max fine per item - $5
Resource Type DVDs - max fine per item - $20
If Johnny returns a book or dvd late, his max fine per item could be as high as $20 even though you set him to have a max fine of $2.
To solve this, Johnny will have to have a max fine per item, for each resource type, set to $2.
To do this click on File, Patrons. Highlight Johnny, click on the Detail tab, click on Resource type Settings, choose each resource type and set Max fine per item to $2.
Max. number of times to renew
Determine the maximum number of times an item of this resource type can be renewed.
Number of Days to wait after Max. Renewals
Determine the number of days a patron must wait before they can checkout an item that they have renewed the max. number of times.
