Type or scan the bar code number for this item.

You can also click on

to automatically calculate the next available bar code number.  Confirm the number is indentical to the number on the bar code label before placing the label on the item.

Note:

If you are manually entering a type 1 bar code (such as 3 0001 00000001 0) it is not necessary to enter the leading 0's.  When you tab out of the field the zeros will be filled in.

The description of this field can be changed by doing the following:

Regular - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - change the Default Label value

Plus - File, Resource Types, Detail, choose the resource type, General Fields, change the substitute label value

This information may be set to read only or invisible by doing the following

Regular - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - check ReadOnly or Invisible in the Field Settings column

Plus - File, Resource Types, Detail, choose the resource type, General Fields, check ReadOnly or Invisible in the Field Settings column

To make sure something gets entered in this field, do the following

Regular - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - check Required in the Field Settings column

Plus - File, Resource Types, Detail, choose the resource type, General Fields, check Required in the  Field Settings column

To set a default value whenever new items are added, do the following
