Congratulations on your purchase of the Advanced Patron Search Add On Module.


To confirm that Advanced Patron Search is activated, click on Help, About ResourceMate 3.0.  You will see Advanced Patron Search in the Add On: section.


Advanced Patron Search adds the following features to Patron Search:


Book Bin

The purpose of the book bin is to allow you to do a search, store some items into the book bin, do another search, store some more items, then access the book bin to see the accumulated list.  From here you can print, export to a file or e-mail the search results.

After you have done a search you can right click on a chosen item and choose

You can also check a number of items and choose


Note:

If this is the first item you are adding to the book bin, choose "Clear Entire Book bin" to clear what is already in the book bin.  It may contain results from some else's searching.


When the book bin is empty the book bin button will appear as

After items have been added to the book bin, the button will appear as

When you have finished adding to the book bin, click to go to the book bin.


In the book bin you can delete specific items or clear the whole book bin.


When you generate reports you can choose to report only those items in the book bin.




Grouped searching

Before performing a search check the "Group by subject box" in the Search options area.


Your search results will be grouped by subject.


You can then choose which group of items you want to view the details of.




Output search results to a file or e-mail the results

When you want to print search results you can either choose

Establish items that cannot be search based on Category, Status, Location and Resource Type

Click on File, List Tables, List Tables.  Then choose either Category, Status or Location.  On the right side you will see

If you check this box, any items with this Category, Status or Location will not show up in the search results.


A resource type can be set to "Can not search" by clicking on File, Resource types.  Choose the resource type and click on the Details tab.


On any of the Search screens you can press F1 to get Help specific to that search screen.
