File, Items, Library Card


Enter the accession date.  This date will be reported on the accession report.  The accession date is automatically entered for each item you add.  You don't even have to go into the Library Card Information screen for this date to be recorded.


At anytime you can generate a listing of all items entered into the library since a particular date - great for letting individuals or groups know what's new in the library.  You may also choose What's New in the Library from the Reports menu in the Patron Search.


Press [TAB] to move to the next field.

The description of this field can be changed by doing the following:

Regular - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - change the Default Label value

Plus - File, Resource Types, Detail, choose the resource type, General Fields, change the substitute label value


This information may be set to read only or invisible by doing the following

Regular - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - check ReadOnly or Invisible in the Field Settings column

Plus - File, Resource Types, Detail, choose the resource type, General Fields, check ReadOnly or Invisible in the Field Settings column


To make sure something gets entered in this field, do the following

Regular - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - check Required in the Field Settings column

Plus - File, Resource Types, Detail, choose the resource type, General Fields, check Required in the  Field Settings column


To set a default value whenever new items are added, do the following

Regular - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - enter a value in the Default value column

Plus - File, Resource Types, Detail, choose the resource type, General Fields, enter a value in the Default value column


To indicate whether this field is searchable by patrons, do the following

Regular or Plus - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - check the box in the "Patron Can Search" column


To indicate whether this field is available in a keyword search, do the following

Regular or Plus - Utilities, Field Settings, Item - check the box in the "Include in Keyword Search" column
