Can
I upgrade from 2.0?
Absolutely!
Customers who have purchased ResourceMate® 2.0 in the past will
not need to purchase a full program of ResourceMate® 3.0. Although
the program has had substantial changes, we ensure that any data
you have placed in ResourceMate® 2.0 can be easily transferred
to your new 3.0 program.
All upgrades
are purchased from the equivalent 2.0 program, and if the Multi-User
version is required that is added on separately. Some examples are:

go from ResourceMate® 2.0 Plus to 3.0 Plus - purchase our
"ResourceMate® 2.0 Plus to 3.0 Plus" Upgrade.
- To go
from ResourceMate® 2.0 Regular to 3.0 Regular - Multi-User

my support continue on?
Yes, your 2.0 support
is automatically transferred into 3.0 support once you receive your
new ResourceMate® product. With the purchase of your 3.0 upgrade

What
are some of the changes from 2.0 to 3.0?
There
are many many exciting new changes in ResourceMate® 3.0:
- Completely
new up-to-date look and feel.
Longer
fields (eg. Title is 200 characters, Sub-title 200 characters,
Series 100 characters).
- You can change Resource
Type on an Item already entered and change copy number on an Item
already entered.
- Far easier searching
of items.
- Modify Items while
in search results grid.
- Easier
entry of multiple copies, and easier entry of a number of Items
in a series.
- Print multiple cards
or labels per Item (numeric entry instead of checkbox).
- Unlimited User Defined
fields.
- Quick
Fill fields - begin typing Author and remainder of their name
is filled in.
- Improved Import from
Internet - for Registered Users with support up-to-date - enter
individual ISBNs and 3.0 will instantly look to local table or
go to the Library of Congress (with Internet connection)
to find information about the individual Item. Everyone will always
be able to use the 2.0 traditional copy from the browser and click
on "Import from Internet".
- Automatically and
manually establish or clear multiple copies
- Pages,
Difficulty Level, and Bar Code Number accept character data. You
can also enter Accession letter as well as Accession number.
- Scrolling field by
field entry based on fields you want to enter in the order you
want to enter them (do all entry from one screen instead of moving
from tab to tab).
- Substitute labels
for ALL fields not just Title,
Sub-Title, Series, Author, 2nd Author, 3rd Author, Publisher,
Place of Publication, Date Published, # of Pages, and Subjects.
Substitute labels for all Patron fields as well!
- Easier report modification!
- Flow Report title,
author and subjects onto a second line if they will not fit in
the given space.
- Much safer resetting
of switches, easier to reset if new items have been entered since
last printing.
- Easier alignment
of cards and labels.
- Select a specific
group of items to print cards or labels for (not just those with
switches set).

and label stock.
Does
an upgrade to ResourceMate® 3.0 overwrite ResourceMate®
2.0?
Absolutely
not. Although ResourceMate® 3.0 upgrades your capabilities,
it is really a whole new program. When you install the upgrade on
your computer it goes into a different folder and does not interfere
with ResourceMate® 2.0 at all.
What's
new in 3.0?
In addition to everything
that has been changed, we've added an incredible number of new features:
General
"How Do I" button in top right corner of every form
that will answer commonly asked questions specific to that form.
- Tip of the Day.
- Change font name
and size for all screens, and change font name and size for all
reports.
Cataloging
- Additional fields
- Donated By, Donated Date, In Memory Of, Volume, Edition, Language,
Physical Description, Purchase Price (different than Replacement
Value), Source, Rating, Condition, ISSN, Large Print, Illustrator,
Editor,and Reading Program fields.
- Establish Authority
entries (Master Lists) that will not be deleted from the list
regardless of whether any Items have that value (eg. Category
list that librarian has established).
- Store URL (web address)
related to an item.
- Establish default
values for all Item fields.
- Establish any Item
field as a required field (eg. Category). Item cannot be saved
until a value has been entered.
- Patrons have an additional
Student Number field.
Circulation
- Check-out and Check-in
can be batched so user can confirm transactions before applying
them.
- All Circulation at
a glance - easily see Overdues. Sort by Patron, Item, or Due Date.
- Manually add to the
Waiting/Reserve List.
- Renew remaining Items
for a Patron.
Patron Search
(formerly Network Search Screen)
- Show listing as well
as Item details.
- Print the sea

results of one Item, selected Items, or all Items as either a
Listing or detailed Report.

to search by Exact Phrase Starting With (=) or Exact Phrase Containing

- Fuzzy Searching
is included as well - lewis, c.s., lewis c s , lewis, c s will
all find Lewis,C.S.
- Plus version - See
/ See Also - searching will reference See / See Also that you
have established. Catalog cards can be printed if necessary. Establish
that users who search for "11th" can see
"eleventh" and those who search for "whales"
can see also "marine mammals."
- Boolean
logic for searches now includes "and not", "or
not."
